In the last 12 months, South Louisiana has had it's share of major weather related events.  The 2016 Louisiana floods caused damage to more than 109,000 homes and 6,000 businesses throughout South Louisiana.  Just last month 6 tornadoes caused damage to over 800 homes.  These events create major needs for home related services as people rebuild.

As massive as these disasters were, the vast majority of the South Louisiana homes were not impacted. While a majority of homeowners will not have the same critical needs, plenty do have plans to improve their homes in 2017.

Various home related items such as outdoor paint, HVAC, and  water heaters have a 10-15 year lifespan.  With so many homes in our area repaired or rebuilt in the 2 years following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, a large number of homeowners are planning repairs or improvements in 2017.

As part of the resources that we offer local businesses, we commission local market research from Marshall Marketing to help businesses better understand the consumer marketplace.

We created the infographic below using the latest release of that research.  We highlighted information on the home improvement market in the New Orleans area.   We hope that it helps home services companies plan their marketing to meet consumer demands.

If your business is in one of these industries and you would like further information about the demographics and geographies for home improvement consumers, please contact us.
