TEGNA Local Louisiana

We have the largest local audience in the region across multiple platforms and some of the most sophisticated marketing tools in the business, but those mean nothing if you don't have experts at the wheel.  Our team of multi-media marketing experts is our biggest asset.

Today we kick off a weekly series we are calling #TeamTuesday, where we will be featuring different members of our team.  They will tell us a little about themselves, and chime in with some marketing expertise.  Since this is New Orleans, we are also asking them to give us restaurant tips - because like all other locals, they are also dining experts.

Learn a little about our team members, read some marketing tips and get great suggestions on NOLA restaurants to try next time you are dining out.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is being able to monitor my client’s campaigns and make sure that all aspects run smoothly.

Q: What do you think is the most effective marketing tactic?
Referrals! Having satisfied customers translates to more customers.  I see some of my most successful clients get lots of referrals from their customers. We often use those customers in commercials as testimonials for my clients to get the power of the referral to even more people. I also see the power of referrals first hand.  Many of our clients have referred us to their friends and the word gets out that we offer multi-platform solutions that work.    Providing service and products that get referrals is the best and most effective marketing tactic.

Q: What do you see as the most underutilized marketing tactic?
In New Orleans right now,  I believe that all digital platforms are underused.  Most local businesses and even boutique agencies do not understand it, and it is too complicated for them to purchase and manage on their own, especially if they do not have a full marketing department.

Q: What is your favorite local restaurant?  What do you recommend on the menu?
My absolute favorite restaurant is Sake Café.  (2830 Magazine Street, NOLA 70115)
I recommend the Rocky II roll with brown rice and the Tropical Roll with some eel and Siracha sauce.

Q: What is your favorite thing about living here?
The Food, the people and the culture.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
I love working with such a variety of businesses to help them find marketing solutions to succeed.

Q: What do you think is the most effective marketing tactic?
Being first is almost always effective. With so much constant change in marketing today, there are always new platforms and new options to reach audiences.  The companies that work to stay relevant and try new things almost always end up ahead of the game.  You often don't know in advance which emerging platform or tactic is going to be the successful.  Not all options initially work for every company, but when they do, the early adopters do better.

Q: What do you see as the most underutilized marketing tactic?
Deciding on a goal and making sure that there is synergy within the plan to get there.  Knowing what your expectations are, and then measuring your success against realistic expectations. The most successful companies do this in stages to measure against a long term goal.

Q: What is your favorite local restaurant? What do you recommend on the menu?
 Clancy's  (6100 Annunciation Street, NOLA 70118)

Fried Oysters with Brie

Boston Salad

Veal with Crabmeat and Bernaise

The fresh fish entrée of the day

Q: What is your favorite thing about living here?
The people, the music, the food, the history, the architecture and the ability to talk to everybody!  New Orleans seems to be the most European city in America.  New Orleans also embraces all.
